After taking home the state's $1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular second prize, two women from Florida became (pre-tax) billionaires.
Five days separated the two October winners' claims to their rewards.
On October 18, at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee, Luisana Dorado, 39, of Naples, collected her $1 million win from the $1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular scratch-off game.
At Circle K, located at 13550 Tamiami Trail North in Naples, she purchased her winning ticket.
The business that sells the winning scratch-off ticket will get a bonus of $2,000.
The next week, on October 23, 51-year-old Parrish resident Terasa Katsaros claimed a $1 million winner at the Florida Lottery offices from the $1,000,000 A Year for Life Spectacular scratch-off game.
The winning scratch-off ticket was purchased by Katsaros at Publix located at 11245 North US Highway 301 in Parrish.
A commission payment of $2,000 will be given to Publix for selling the winning ticket.
Katsaros and Dorado chose not to receive a $40,000 annuity payout over the course of 25 years; instead, they received a $640,000 lump sum settlement.
